Exploring an Unique Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Piece of Feces on a Quest to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and enthusiasts have encountered a variety of entertaining creations from small studios. But, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure includes a hero that is truly a piece of poop attempting to make its way to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: just use a single jump button. In 150 stages, you'll face boss fights and access a store to purchase customizations for your fecal avatar.

Plan your jumps precisely, as a error requires beginning again. Leap using floating orbs to hurl yourself upward, traverse crumbling platforms, and activate switches to unlock secret routes. Collect coins and use them on challenging levels in which gameplay ramps up.

Visually, the demo boasts eye-catching level designs and an amazing music score. The simple graphics with shifting abstract forms could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

Although tough to think of other games where you are a coiled turd, interactive entertainment often incorporated fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can make grenades from protagonist waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as soil enrichment. Unsurprisingly, such content shows up heavily in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Despite its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already received impressive recognition, such as being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is available now on Steam, with the complete version planned to arrive on PC on November 19.
